Spring is a beautiful time at Panorama; the sun shines a little brighter, the days are delightfully longer, and the goggle tans start to show in full force. After what seems like an endlessly and abnormally colder winter in BC and Alberta, we are welcoming the arrival of the warm weather with open arms, and personally cannot wait to get some laps in under the sun without our balaclavas, electric heated ski socks, and puffy jackets. Don't miss a moment with the short but sweet spring ski season with our local’s tips on how to rock the end of winter at Panorama.
Say goodbye to the 'no-friends-on-a-powder-day' mentality and hello to endless patio-weather and the notorious 2 pm Spring après scene. This Spring head to the Elkhorn Cabin mid-mountain for an ice-cold craft beer where you can enjoy the incredible view of Mt. Nelson and an unplugged moment to connect with friends. Looking to catch some rays? Head up to the sunbaked Summit Hut deck where you can mix quick laps on the Summit quad with patio bevvies and some serious sun bathing. Or keep things simple and grab a picnic table outside Canada’s only Snowcat-food-truck. The Snowlicious Mobile Kitchen is located on the aptly named Champagne beach at the top of the Champagne chairlift. With a pumping sound system, all day sunshine and a menu boasting tacos and shot skis, this spot oozes spring après vibes. Local's tip: Try the pulled pork tacos - they're amazing!
In the village you’ll find locals kicking back on The Great Hall patio under brightly coloured umbrellas around the sun drenched patio bar.
We understand how exciting a bargain can be for snow enthusiasts after a winter of ski vacations and new gear purchases. This year you can finish off your ski season by relaxing slopeside without breaking the bank by booking our season extension BOGO sale on now. The deal is simple; get 50% off in all Panorama lodging and 25% off lift tickets when purchased with your accommodation March 14-21.
Springtime at Panorama also features a whole whack of entertainment and DJs so you can kick back and relax to some live music after a long day in the sun.
With summer on our minds, and snow under our feet comes some of the most entertaining and exciting events of the year. The resort becomes alive with the sound of music March 22-24 when the 2019 High Notes Music Festival rolls into town. The festival brings a wonderful lineup of independent Canadian artists from around the nation to our slopeside stages. This year JUNO nominees The Jerry Cans will rock the resort along with acclaimed tenor Ken Lavigne, Tiger Moon, Diyet & The Love Soldiers, East Coast partiers Derina Harvey Band and Calgary group The Frontiers.
March 30, riders of board or bike get to test their skills through the many berms of our banked slalom course for the 2nd annual Banks, Cranks & Brews Banked Slalom. Snowboarders, mountain bikers and fat tire bikers are welcome to enter this fun event with tons of prizes.
As someone with a closet full of costumes and a passion for skiing there is truly no better way to send off the season than shredding slush at the annual Super Hero Sun Fest. Suit up for a huge weekend of sun-soaked fun including the Slush Showdown (pictured above), Peak to Valley challenge, Dummy Downhill, and salute our Ski Patrol (the real heroes!).
Easter comes late this year and that is the perfect excuse to get away with the family. Spring skiing will be at it’s finest and there are plenty of kid friendly activities and special events to keep everyone entertained on and off the slopes.
Of course, our favourite part of Spring is the skiing itself and there is nothing quite like the sound of spraying slush on a sharp turn, hero snow and long days ripping laps on soft corduroy in T-shirt weather. It’s simply just a really good time made all the better by ripping around with your crew. Grab your friends and get up here. Spring is just getting started and the party is in full swing.
